Playoff Football: Valley to face Ankeny in First Round on Friday, Oct. 26
The Class 4A top-ranked Valley High School varsity football team finished the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record after defeating Des Moines North 69-0 on Friday, Oct. 19. The Tigers are the No. 2 seed in the upcoming 4A Iowa high school football playoffs, as announced early Saturday, Oct. 20, by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. Tickets Punched: Valley boys' and girls' cross country teams qualify for State Meet
The Valley High School boys' and girls' cross country teams have qualified for the Iowa high school state cross country meet.  On Thursday, Oct. 18, the girls won its district meet meet in Council Bluffs at Iowa Western Community College. The boys earned second place.  The top three teams and top 15 individuals at each district meet qualify for the state meet, which is Saturday, Oct. 27 at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.  Congratulations, Valley cross country!   Congrats to our boys qualifying for the 15th straight year! pic.twitter.com/0KJ4T67wgJ ...

No. 3 Valley volleyball prepares for regionals, faces D.M. East on Oct. 23
The Class 5A third-ranked Valley High School varsity volleyball team won the Johnston Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13, in Johnston. The Tigers picked up 2-0 match victories over Bettendorf, Class 2A seventh-ranked Dike New Hartford, No. 8 Pleasant Valley and No. 9 Urbandale and had a 2-1 match win over No. 7 Dowling Catholic. Valley, currently 38-3 and riding a 22 match win streak, now has its sights on postseason. The Tigers are part of the Region 5 bracket, with participating teams including Des Moines East, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Iowa City West, and No. 15 Johnston. View the full bracket here ...
