Wrestling: Lombardi wins state title at 220 pounds, Valley places 6th in 3A 

Senior Beau Lombardi won the Class 3A 220-pound title at the Iowa high school state wrestling tournament on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Lombardi defeated Cameron Baker of Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson, 4-1, in overtime.

Valley also had three wrestlers place at state. They include:

126 pounds—Nick Oldham (Runner-up)
145 pounds—Caleb Corbin (Third)
170 pounds—Blake Underwood (Fourth)

C.J. Stillman (182) also competed at the state wrestling tournament, but did not medal.

The Tigers finished in sixth place at this year's traditional state wrestling tournament. 

Earlier in the week, the Tigers placed eighth at the state dual meet.
